For my first project at Velentium, I took on development of the Heart Hero mobile app as part of a small team. This project was already started by a previous company. I contributed to the following areas:

  • Software Requirements
  • System Topology and Architecture
  • BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) file transfers and command protocol
    • Firmware and App side programming 
  • User Experience
  • Responsive layout and GUI using SwiftUI
  • Push Notifications
  • MapKit
  • ECG graphs of heart activity
  • REST API for http calls
    • Cloud and App side implementation
  • User accounts and authentication (permissions)
  • Local storage and data cache (offline mode) using Realm DB
  • Data sharing between user accounts
  • Procedures supporting QMS compliance required for FDA approval

Later the project transitioned to Concise Engineering. I became Lead of all Mobile Development.

The Elliot AED

is a revolutionary new type of heart defibrillator that is smaller, lighter, and more portable than typical AEDs.  The goal of the project is to save lives in the case of sudden cardiac arrest.  It is rugged with full IP-68 weatherproofing and loaded with IOT features that keep it continuously synched with the cloud. This makes it easer to maintain a fleet and track device locations. Quickly view battery status or edit configuration settings using the mobile app. The "Elliot" can even contact EMS and automatically dispatch an ambulance when used to treat a patient.
